Designing AI for Collaborative Learning
AI is increasingly used as an individual learning support tool, yet learning and work remain fundamentally collaborative. This creates a risk that, while AI can enhance individual learning, it also encourages more isolated workflows and weakens the collaborative capabilities higher education is expected to develop.
In response to this challenge, the Executive Briefing will present findings from the Designing AI for Collaborative Learning report, developed in collaboration with Pearson. Drawing on emerging institutional practices and student perspectives, the report examines how AI can be designed and used to strengthen human collaboration in learning. It will also introduce a curated collection of approaches to AI-supported group learning, peer inquiry, and collaborative problem-solving.
